The 5th Ecumenical Pilgrimage for Climate Jusitice is going to start in Forst (Lausitz) on the Polish border. There, some Polish  pilgrims are going to join us, symbolically handing us back our demands and messages we were carrying 2018 to Katowice and to the COP 24.

We will walk through Germany, The Netherlands, and finally England and Scotland to Glasgow, were the COP 26 will take place. Our goal is to talk to people, scientists, polititians, and organisations about climate change and actions necessary in order to limit earth heating to 1,5°C.

Furthermore, we are seeking media attention to spread our demands and messages as broad as possible. The more people we are, the more attention we'll receive.

Therefore we are inviting everyone to participate, for some hours, for a day or even longer.

People planning to participate for more than just a day have to register on our website www.klimapilgern.de.

Please keep in mind, as climate pilgrims we are used to a frugal life. Most of the time our accomodation will be parish halls and gynasiums.

  • Any participant must be trained to walk 25 km a day with 5 km/h (3.1 mi/h) and a rucksack on the back.
  • Any participant has to collect the daily accomodation info self-reliantly.
  • New pilgrims arriving will be introduced to the group.
  • We are looking after each other. Let everyone know about your plans on participation.

To carry our banners and flags is an honour!

The flag carried at the end of our cavalcade is signaling it's end. No one should fall behind.
