The romantic castle can be reached on a hike from Scharfenberg into the Rehbocktal valley. It is not only known because of its charming location. Numerous cultural events invite you to visit.
Hidden above the Elbe, in the hills of the left Elbe valleys of the municipality of Klipphausen, lies picturesquely the winding castle Batzdorf. On the outskirts of the village of Batzdorf, between gardens, orchards and the wooded Reebock valley, you will find the reawakened gem from ancient times.

Public transport

By train: S1 Meißen Triebischtal-Dresden-Schöna, get off in Meißen, continue by bus (the bus station is right next to the train station Meißen), cab, bike or on foot. By bus: Line 404 Meißen-Cossebaude, get off in Batzdorf-Rebockschänke, walk about 15 min. steeply uphill through Rehbocktal to Batzdorf Castle. By bus: Line 414 or 426 from Meißen, get off in Reichenbach and walk about 15 min. to the castle Batzdorf. On foot (approx. 1 hour) or with the Farrad (approx. 20 min.) from Meißen, on the Lingselbischen Elberadweg stream upward to the Rehbockschänke, there steeply uphill by the Rehbocktal to the castle Batzdorf run.

By road

Freeway A4, junction Wilsdruff, direction Meißen, approx. 6 km before Meißen turn right in direction Reichenbach/Scharfenberg. OR On the B6 between Dresden and Meißen turn into Scharfenberg and keep direction Reichenbach.
