Moritzburg church

Today, the church serves the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Moritzburg as a church building. The building towers imposingly on an elevation directly on the avenue leading to Moritzburg Castle. However, the church stands out from its surroundings not only because of its special location, but also because of its magnificent exterior façade. The church was built in the years 1902-1904. On November 7, 1904, the church, built according to the plans of architect Richard Schleinit, was finally consecrated. After the church was increasingly exposed to decay during the GDR period, a comprehensive renovation and restoration of the Moritzburg church took place after the fall of the Berlin Wall from 1992 to 2009. Among the features of this church worth seeing are the four evangelists' stucco ornaments in the double dome as well as the organ with late romantic sound, which was built in 1904 by the Dresden organ building company Gebrüder Jehmlich.
