Luther often preached in the Marienkirche. His wife Katharina Luther, born von Bora, found her last resting place here. Beside her tombstone, the famous painting "The Fourteen Helpers in Need" by Lucas Cranach the Elder is also worth seeing.
The painting "The Fourteen Helpers in Need", by Lucas Cranach the Elder (1505) is the most important piece of her interior decoration still preserved today. But also the tombstone of Duchess Sophie of Mecklenburg (1504), the Passion Altar (1509), the tombstone of Katharina Luther (1552) or the richly decorated wooden pulpit (1582) are worth seeing.
The Schuster organ from Zittau, built between 1980 and 1984, found its place in the northern side aisle.
