Procession of Princes Dresden - mural of Saxon history.
The Wettins have the oldest family tree in Germany - and they can all be seen in the Procession of Princes. This is the name of the approximately 100-meter-long mural made of Meissen porcelain tiles along Augustusstrasse. The artist Wilhelm Walther scratched it into the plaster as a sgraffito between 1872 and 1876. Because the mural weathered quickly, it soon received an upgrade to a tile frieze. Composed of 24,000 tiles. Leading the procession of 35 princes is Conrad the Great. He got the margraviate of Meissen in 1123. The last is King George of Saxony who ruled until 1904.
