The only independent operetta theater in Germany.

The State Operetta has a long tradition in Dresden: When the large theaters in the city center were destroyed in 1945, the State Operetta reformed in 1947 and moved into a former inn with a ballroom on the outskirts of Dresden. Temporary arrangements are known to last the longest. But with the development of the Kraftwerk Mitte site, the operetta finally reached its goal: a house for the Merry Widow or the Threepenny Opera that could also be reached on foot from the city center!
