Citizens' stage, Dresden speeches and, of course, classical theater - what Dresdeners are concerned about is negotiated on the stage of the Schauspielhaus. The Theater am Postplatz has always been the place that gave expression to Dresden's moods. Starting with the legendary "Knights of the Round Table" by Christoph Hain, which was a piece of the puzzle in the Peaceful Revolution in 1989, to "Graf Öderland - Wir sind das Volk" (Count Öderland - We are the People), which took a stand on the Pegida marches outside the door. Since 2017, Joachim Klement has been the new artistic director of the house, which he sees as a "social laboratory.
