The Schwerter Brewery is Saxony's oldest private brewery and was founded in 1460. The various Schwerter beers are popular throughout the Elbland region. The fine beers of the Schwerter Brewery owe their exquisite taste to their tradition-conscious production as well as the carefully selected ingredients from the homeland.

Meißen is not only a city of wine growing, but also a city with a long and carefully preserved brewing tradition. For more than 555 years, the Schwerter Brewery, whose headquarters are located in the district of Zaschendorf, has been cultivating original Meissen beer culture and attaches great importance to preserving the old art of brewing. The beers are still brewed in good craft tradition with the traditional brewing process. However, it is also the masterful care and experience of the brewmasters that resonates in the first-class beers.

Currently, the brewery produces several different types of beer - including seasonal beers - which are served to guests freshly tapped in the affiliated brewery restaurant. Enjoying the refreshing beer specialties in the unique brewery atmosphere is an experience for every beer lover. The rustic pub and beer garden can of course also be used for celebrations of all kinds. Those who want to learn more about the secrets of the art of brewing and everything worth knowing about beer production should not miss the informative guided tours.
